Lost and Found

The San Diego Humane Society and SPCA, North Campus provides lost and found services for the cities of Oceanside and Vista.  Our Central Campus (Gaines Street) is not able to accept stray animals.  If you live outside of Oceanside or Vista, please click here or scroll down to see a list of other shelters.

We log animals who are reported as Lost and who are reported as Found by members of the public in Oceanside and Vista.  If you have lost or found an animal in or around these two cities, please contact the San Diego Humane Society and SPCA:

  • For Dogs call 760-730-8854
  • For Cats or Small Animals call 760-681-5751
  • Send an email to lostandfound@sdhumane.org (please include the animal’s name, age, weight, breed, color, overall description, and a photo)

The stray hold time for animals in the care of the San Diego Humane Society and SPCA is four (4) days.  Animals that are not claimed within the 4 day holding period may be made available for adoption.  If your animal has been lost for 4 days or longer and you don't see them listed in your search, please check our Adoption Page.

Below are some additional tools and recomendations to assist you with your search.
