-
Meet with an adoption counselor trained to help make the best pet match for you and the pet. Each pet up for adoption has received a medical examination and/or a behavioral assessment in order to help determine the best home for that pet. Counselors will help you decide if the animal you are interested in is a good match for your lifestyle and will direct you to any pets that may be appropriate. If you do not find a new companion, your application is kept on file for six months.
-
Complete the adoption once you and our counselors agree that you've found a great match. We prefer that all members of the household (including other dogs) are present during the adoption process to ensure that the chosen pet is compatible with everyone. If they are unavailable, a "hold" may be placed on the pet for a short period in order for any family or other pets to come in and meet with us and the pet. Also if during our assessment process we discover any significant medical conditions or behavioral issues, we will provide this information to you via a scheduled pre-adoption consultation with one of our veterinarians and/or behavior trainers. Some pets may also require a post-adoption consultation to ensure the pet is adjusting well to his new home.
Please note: In order keep the stress levels in our animals as low as possible, dogs are not allowed in the adoptable animal viewing areas. Please bring a family member or friend to "dog sit" in the lobby while you stroll the adoption gallery and meet prospective pets.

Our pets' adoption fees include including spay/neutering (some small animals excepted), current vaccinations, permanent microchip identification ($5 Lifetime Registration Fee is additional), a certificate for a free veterinary exam and much more!
