Euthanasia
Here at the San Diego Humane Society, we know that your pet is a member of the family. Losing your beloved companion is a painful experience, but we are here to help you through with compassionate care and supportive programs.
Though saying goodbye to a cherished pet is never easy, we provide a serene, secluded place that is
respectful and sensitive to you and your pet.
Euthanasia Services
We offer two types of appointments (fees do not include aftercare).
- Owner present - $100.00
Offered at our Central Campus, and North Campus at Airport Road
appointment required 24 hours in advance.
- Certified Technician only (owner not present) - $25.00
Offered at all three locations
After Care
We can assist you with aftercare
decisions (cremation/burial), working with the following organizations:
Communal cremation:
- San Diego Pet Memorial Park (www.sdpetpark.com)
Fees: Cats $10, Dogs range $10-$25 dependent on weight.
Individual aftercare (cremation and/or burial):
- San Diego Pet Memorial Park (www.sdpetpark.com)
Fees vary, mention the San Diego Humane Society to receive a discount.
- AA Sorrento Valley Pet Cemetary and Crematory (www.svpc.biz)

Pet Loss Support
We provide a Pet Loss Support Group here at the San Diego Humane Society. The group provides an environment where thoughts and emotions can be shared with
those of similar circumstances and feelings of grief are understood and
validated. This resource is available for those who have lost a pet or are considering euthanasia. Read more here »
