Our Training Wheels program is based off of a national outreach program developed by canine expert, Sue Sternberg. By bringing our helpful resources into the community, we can reach more people and make a difference in the lives of more animals. Training Wheels is a program that allows us to respond to many educational, basic behavioral, and financial needs of the community.
Twice each week, staff members of San Diego Humane Society and SPCA travel into different neighborhoods, all throughout San Diego County. By hitting the streets and visiting communities, we can bring SDHS into the community in a positive way. Brand new pet supplies are donated to members of the community and free advice and tips are given personally by our trainers.

Our goal with the Training Wheels outreach program is to help dogs and cats live better lives, help strengthen the bond between pets and their families, and to remedy behavior problems before pet owners turn to relinquishment as a last resort.
