A private nonprofit organization that receives no public or government funding, the San Diego Humane Society and SPCA is supported solely by contributions, grants, bequests, investments, and some fees for service.
Currently, we have 145 employees and over 800 volunteers, which shows that volunteers play a very significant role in our organization. Without the generous help of our volunteers, we could not continue to provide such quality care to our animals and service to the public.
