Youth Art Poster Contest

Terra-Nova Clinton

Students ages 5 - 18 are invited to create a poster that celebrates the human-animal bond.

Prizes will be awarded to the top 3 winners in each age group!

Entry Rules:

  • Contest is open to children ages 5 - 18. The work will be judged in 4 groups, organized by age.
  • For mounting and display purposes, poster size must be 11 inches x 17 inches. Other sizes will not be accepted.
  • Submissions must be no thicker than poster-board.
  • Student may use any media: marker, paint, ink, crayon, computer-generated, photography, or collage.
  • Submission must be artist's original work: no tracing, clip, or pre-illustrated computer art.
  • No collaborative entries, including adults such as parents or teachers.
  • Tape a copy of the entry form to the back of each entry. Do not write directly on the poster.
  • No images glorifying violence toward animals or pet overpopulation will be accepted.
  • Inclusion in the contest is based on the discretion of the San Diego Humane Society.

Posters must portray the human-animal bond by showing one or more of the following:

  • What animals mean to you.
  • Why animals are important in our lives.
  • How animals enrich our lives.
  • A positive connection between people and their pets.

Deadline:

Posters must be received or postmarked by February 7, 2014. Winners will be announced in April 2014. All participants will receive a participation award via email.
