Pawsitive Service - Youth Service Day
Pawsitive Service is a youth service day that takes place four
times a year. Youth ages 14-17 can fulfill a community service requirement that
is both educational to them and helpful to the San Diego Humane Society!
Our next youth service days:
Saturday, April 20th North Campus in
Oceanside
Saturday, May 18th Central Campus in San
Diego
(If you miss these dates, please
come back to this page to check for future dates!)
Are you looking for a fun and educational way to make a difference? Are
you trying to meet a community service hours goal for your school, civic group,
church or college applications? Do want to help provide enrichment
opportunities for animals during their stay at the San Diego Humane
Society?
Then Pawsitive Service might
be for you!
Pawsitive Service consists of two parts. You will complete
the first part at home in preparation for your service day (the second part) at
either the San Diego Humane Society and SPCA’s North Campus in Oceanside or
Central Campus in San Diego.
Consistent with our regular volunteer program
age requirements, children ages 14 to 17 are welcome to participate.
Anyone younger than 16 must attend with a parent or guardian.
How Does it Work?
Part 1 - At home:
Collect supplies to make pet enrichment items for adoptable animals to bring on
your service day at San Diego Humane Society and SPCA.
Part 2 - On-site:
Participate in a three hour service day at the San Diego Humane Society where
you will use the materials you collected to create a variety of enrichment
items for our animals.
When Will the Next Session be Held?
The next Pawsitive Service Projects will take
place on Saturday, April 20th at our
North Campus in Oceanside and Saturday, May 18th at our Central
Campus in San Diego.
