Pawsitive Service: Youth Service Day
Are you looking for a fun and educational way to make a difference? Are you trying to meet a community service goal for your school, civic group, church, or college applications? Do you want to help provide enrichment opportunities for animals during their stay at the San Diego Humane
Pawsitive Service is a service program for youth ages 11-17 to fulfill a community
service requirement that is both educational to them and helpful to the San Diego Humane Society!
Pawsitive Service Options:
Groups of 20 children or fewer are welcome to book a private Pawstive Service session. Sessions last 2 hours and include making enrichment items, meeting an animal, and a tour of
the San Diego Humane Society.
Groups should plan to collect all necessary materials for making enrichment items (supply list provided). In addition to bringing your own supplies, a $5 per person resource fee is also
Individuals may choose one of the following options:
- Attend one of our Pawsitive Service sessions, held every other month. Sessions last 2
hours and include making enrichment items, meeting an animal, and a tour of the San Diego Humane Society. Individuals should plan to collect all necessary materials for making enrichment items (supply list provided). In addition to bringing your own supplies, a $5 resource fee is also appreciated.

- Request our Do-It-Yourself Packet to collect and make enrichment items at home, host a donation drive to collect items from our Wish List,
or post Furry Flyers to help get our shelter animals adopted.
Individuals can keep a log tracking the time dedicated to each project, which can be submitted to us for community service credit. We will sign off on up to 15 hours of community service. A tour of the shelter can be provided, but must be scheduled a week in advance.
