Heather has come so far since she first came into our care in the beginning of September. The 2-year old Boxer mix was terrified, with her tail tucked, reluctant to even accept treats. Our trainers spent some time with her helping her build trust, and then she was placed in a foster home where she has really thrived. Here’s what her foster mommy, Kathy, has to say about the gentle-souled girl…
What do you like best about her personality?
“She is so cuddly and sweet once she gets over her shyness — always happy to see you, whether you’ve been gone from the house a while, or just first thing in the morning!”
What first drew you to your pick?
“She’s shy and a bit wary, just like my own dog, and I’ve seen how this type of dog can really blossom out of the shelter.”
Is there something special about the way your pick looks?
“She’s very athletic and in great shape, and she also has a very sweet face.”
What is her coolest/silliest/most fun trait?
“She loves to please, and knows sit, shake, stay, and come. She really listens and looks to her person for “what next??” all the time.”
Anything else you’d like to add?
“Even though she’s young, she is extremely well-behaved. She’s calm and quiet, but loves to play and will chase a tennis ball; she’s been a great playmate for my female border collie mix.”
Heather is currently available for adoption but living in a foster home. If you are interested in meeting this sweet & well-behaved doggie, please give us a call at (619) 299-7012.
