Margot first came into our care as a stray mama cat with her litter of four kittens. She was an excellent mom and, once they were ready, all of her babies were quickly adopted. She, on the other hand, has found it a bit more challenging to find a home. Margot can be quite shy in new situations and with new people, but for those who take it slowly and give her the time she needs to feel comfortable and build trust, she has shown what a sweet-spirited and lovably playful kitty she is!
One such staff member who has become enamored with this tortoiseshell beauty is Adoption Counselor, Amanda, who has chosen the marvelous Margot as her employee pick. Here’s what Amanda has to say about her:
What do you like best about her personality?
“Whenever I go into the cat room Margot is always right there ready to greet me with her beautiful big green eyes and that playful expression on her face. She has really transformed from her shy, cautious self into this wonderful, playful, and curious cat that just loves any kind of play you engage in with her! She has even gone from not allowing any touching to now soliciting cheek and back rubs from those she trusts, as long as you also play with her or give her some treats too!”
What first drew you to your pick?
“Every morning when I come in she is the first to greet me, standing at the door waiting patiently for me to come give her breakfast and then play with her favorite wand toy.”
Is there something special about the way your pick looks?
“She has these gorgeous green eyes that are complimented by her unique tortie coat coloring, it’s a beautiful combination.”
What is her coolest/silliest/most unique trait?
“She is so quick! One moment you are dangling the wand toy while she ‘charges up’ to jump on it and the next moment she has already managed to land on top of the toy and sometimes even succeeds in slipping it from your hands.”
Anything else you’d like to add about your pick?
“It has been such a joy to watch her turn over a new leaf here, going from being shy and shut down to now anxiously awaiting our company and thoroughly enjoy playing with us. Margot has also befriended another cat named Nilla, and they are just too cute when they play and cuddle together. She is really going to make someone a great play-mate!”
