Meet Allie

Animal ID: 184008

Volunteer: Chelly W.

Canine Companion volunteer, Chelly, absolutely adores 2-year old American Staffordshire Terrier mix, Allie. Currently available for adoption at our Sherman Street Campus, Allie is really something special and, according to volunteer Chelly, an excellent pit bull ambassador. Allie’s previous owners were grief-stricken when they had to give her up, but now we hope that some loving home out there is ready to welcome her in.

Here’s some more of what Chelly had to say about her pick, Allie:

What do you like best about her personality?

What first drew you to your pick?
“She is a sweet, calm dog who LOVES people.”

Is there something special about the way your pick looks?
“I think she is very pretty with her blue and white markings, and she has a cute little dark spot in the middle of all the white on top of her head that is about the size of someone’s thumbprint. She also has very soulful and sweet eyes that just seem to say ‘take me home.'”

What is her coolest/silliest/most fun trait?
“She LOVES belly rubs, bringing you her toys to play with — she is playful yet does not like to play rough.”

Anything else you’d like to add?
“Her former owners, an elderly couple, wrote a 4-page letter about Allie that just describes her as the BEST dog ever, and it is so obvious that her owners really loved her. This letter gives so much background on what a special dog she is and her great personality – we usually don’t get much of a dog’s history at the shelter so the letter is very special. It is obvious that they were so sad to have to give her up to move into a retirement home. Very heartwarming story about all the wonderful things Allie did, how well she interacted with young grandchild, very attentive and well mannered. She so deserves another loving home where she can spend her time just being loved. She has SO much love to give, especially in a quiet home, and I think she would be an easy, fun, and loving companion.”

Allie is currently available for adoption at our Sherman Street location which is not open to the public but is only blocks away from our San Diego Campus on Gaines Street. Call us at (619) 299-7012 or come on by our San Diego Campus to arrange an introduction – she can’t wait to meet you!
