Sandy is a super sweet senior who cannot wait to find a loving home! In addition to her mature age (although, being just 8-years young she’s still got plenty of life and love to share), another reason Sandy has struggled to attract potential adopters is because her personality inside her kennel is misrepresentative of her sweet, affectionate personality outside of her kennel. See, the shelter life is pretty stressful for her, so when people only catch a glimpse of her in her kennel, they might be inclined to think that she’s not very friendly and prone to bark at men. If only they could see her when she out of her kennel — that’s when her lovable personality really comes shining through! She is quick to roll over for a belly rub and snuggle up next to you. It’s this affectionate nature of Sandy’s that melted the heart of Canine Companion and Behavior & Trainer volunteer, Dana.
Here’s what Dana has to say about her volunteer pick, sweet Sandy:
What do you like best about her personality?
“She is very affectionate and likes to give kisses.”
What first drew you to your pick?
“Her soulful eyes.”
Is there something special about the way your pick looks?
“Her floppy ears are really cute.”
What is her coolest/silliest/most fun trait?
“She loves to roll in the grass on her back. She scoots all around in circles so she gets every inch scratched.”
Anything else you’d like to add?
“She may be 8 but she is still very spunky and playful. She is also very happy curling up next to you and flipping over for a nice belly rub. She’s a social girl who really would love to have someone to call her own.”
Sandy is currently available for adoption at our Oceanside Campus. Come on by and meet this super-sweet senior today!
