You have done well, Grasshopper.

Animal ID: 186773

Volunteer: Dana O.

2-year old Grasshopper has made so much progress since he first came into our care back in the end of August. Initially terrified, he would try to hide and get himself as far away from people as possible. It took some time, and lots of TLC, but soon he was making great strides toward trusting the humans around him. Today, this sweet boy is melting the hearts of volunteers and staff alike, with his sweet nature and eagerness to please. Here’s some of what Canine Companion/Behavior & Training Volunteer, Dana, has to say about Grasshopper, her volunteer pick:

What do you like best about his personality?
He is very playful. He also works hard to please you during training.

What first drew you to your pick?
“His sweet face.”

Is there something special about the way your pick looks?
“See above 🙂  Seriously, he has the cutest face ever.”

What is his coolest/silliest/most fun trait?yoda
He likes to lick your face while you scratch his chest.

Anything else you’d like to add?
He can jump really high (which is how he got his name) and he would make a fabulous
Frisbee partner.
He can be a little shy when he first meets people but once he knows you he’s a silly, affectionate boy. He is  very smart  and learns very quickly. He knows lots of obedience cues, walks beautifully on leash and he aims to please.”

Grasshopper is currently available for adoption at our Oceanside Campus on San Luis Rey Rd. If you are interested in meeting this super special guy, please stop on by or give us a call at (619) 299-7012 for more info.
