This shy girl was transferred into our care from another shelter with significant trauma to her right ear and multiple bite wounds all over. The one and a half-year old doggie was completely terrified and in need of urgent medical care. We immediately treated her physical wounds, and she has healed beautifully. Her emotional wounds and fearfulness have taken a little longer to heal, but with patience and a lot of love, she continues to make significant progress in our care.
Emmy, whose DNA testing shows her to be a mix of American Staffordshire Terrier and Bull Terrier, can be shy with new people but warms up with a little time and quickly shows what a sweet and affectionate girl she is. And, despite being the clear victim of a dog attack, she hasn’t let that one experience keep her from making lots of friends here at the shelter! Emmy has done great in her doggie playgroups and that’s when her adorable goofiness really comes out!
Emmy can’t wait to find a loving home where she can be given the time she needs to acclimate and overcome her fears so that she can become more and more happy and confident.
Won’t you give this sweet shrinking violet a chance to truly blossom?
