Lacey, a 6-year old American Staffordshire Terrier Mix, is more than just another pretty face. This sweet girl is also a bonafide smartypants and cuddlebug, as well. While she can be shy initially, once she gets to know you Lacey is very affectionate and loves to ‘lean in’ to her human friends, not so subtly indicating her earnest appreciation for continued petting.
Lacey has also proven herself to be a top-notch student, eager to learn and quick to train. Her collection of mastered tricks include “sit,” “sit pretty,” “shake,” and “roll over.” Lacey is also very house-trained, walks well on leash (particularly with the help of a sensation harness or ‘gentle leader’), and does great on car rides.
Lacey is one of several lucky dogs to have been selected to participate in our Canine Adventure Program. This is a program in which our volunteers take shelter dogs out on “adventures,” like hikes or long walks far away from the shelter environment, where they can experience new sights and smells, and make new friends, too. Lacey has been on a number of “Canine Adventures” and has done wonderfully! She especially loves her trips to Balboa Park!
So if you have room in your heart for a a loving and cuddly companion who just needs a little time to get to know you, look no further! Lacey is ready to show you her impressive tricks and her sweet, lovable spirit!
If you would like to meet Lacey, please call 619.299.7012 or stop by our San Diego Campus on Gaines Street to arrange an intro. Please have her Animal ID ready so that we can best help you.
