Youth Outreach Programs

Educational Outreach

In addition to our programs at San Diego Humane Society, we can bring our humane and character education lessons to your educational setting. We can tailor programs for all age groups and offer lessons on dog bite prevention, responsible pet care, careers with animals, and more.

These programs are free of charge, however, donations are greatly appreciated and help with the costs of providing these valuable learning opportunities.

For information about scheduling educational outreach programs, please contact us at [email protected] or 619.299.7012 x 2316.

Outreach Lessons

We offer three main categories of outreach lessons: Animal Issues, Character Traits, and Science. These lessons are aligned with Common Core and Next Generation Science Standards. Many of these lessons make great introductions to a concept or a particular area of study.

Humane Education Check-Out Bags

Educators can also bring humane and character education lessons and activities to their students through our check-out bags. Each bag contains materials covering topics like responsibility, fairness, kindness, pet overpopulation, and more.

A credit card on file will be required to check out a bag.

For more information about the bags or to reserve one, please contact us at [email protected] or 619.299.7012 x 2316.

Educators: To receive updates about future educational opportunities, please email [email protected] to be added to our contact list.
