Important Update: Dog Owner Surrender Services on Hold

All San Diego Humane Society campuses (including San Diego, El Cajon, Escondido and Oceanside locations) are currently unable to take in owner-surrendered dogs, except in cases of emergency that threaten the health of the pet.

We have recently noticed an increase in canine respiratory disease in dogs in our care. Out of an abundance of caution, all affected dogs are under quarantine and we are temporarily limiting our dog intake to stray animals.

We understand this is a challenging situation and are here to help. We have a wide range of tools and resources available that can help you hold onto your pet a little bit longer or rehome them directly to an adopter. Please browse our available resources and contact us to let us know how we can help.

Thank you for your understanding.

Microchip Special!

Microchips are just $15 from June 14-30; Tuesday - Sunday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at our campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside and San Diego. No appointment is required during this time frame.

To learn more, visit sdhumane.org/microchip.
