Adoptions are completed in person on a first-come, first-served basis. Once you have found an animal you’re interested in, please visit the appropriate campus during adoption hours to speak with an adoption counselor.
San Diego Humane Society has a variety of adoptable pets available including cats, dogs and small animals like rats, rabbits, hamsters, birds, reptiles and more.

If your perfect pet isn’t already available for adoption, they might be soon! Check our database of stray pets, as well as pets in our shelter for emergency boarding. Interested community members can place holds on these pets in case they become available for adoption! Note: Holds must be placed in person at the campus where the animal is being housed and do not guarantee adoption.
