UPDATE
Due to concerns related to COVID-19 in our community, we have made some changes to the process for items being donated in-person at all of our campuses*. We always appreciate the desire to support animal welfare through donations, and the restrictions we place on some donations help us keep our animals safe and manage our staff time.
- Please wash and/or disinfect your donation items before you bring them to us.
- When you drop your items off, we may ask you to put them on a cart to reduce the possibility of transmission.
- If you are donating additional items, please review the list of donation items we are able to accept, and make sure that your items are on this wish list
Short Term Service
Would you like to support San Diego Humane Society but cannot make a long-term commitment? Consider one of our short term service opportunities!
These service projects can all be done from home, over the course of a few hours or a few weeks and benefit the animals and programs of San Diego Humane!
Do-It-Yourself Packets:
Download our packets and make enrichment items at home! Packets include a service log to earn hours. If you need verification of service hours (non-court-ordered) after completing a project, please continue to track your hours on the service log.
*Once we are ready to begin accepting donations, be sure to bring your service log along with the enrichment items so staff at the front desk can sign it. Please email any questions to [email protected].
Host a Donation Drive
Collect items from our Wish List.
Post Flyers
Post Flyers of available animals around your community to help our shelter animals get adopted.
Fundraising
Host a third party fundraiser.
Feral Cat Coalition
If you have a little time to give, you could volunteer with FCC this summer to help support their mission of reducing the suffering and overpopulation of feral and abandoned cats through free, humane trap-neuter-return. Since 1992, they have spayed and neutered more than 40,000 feral cats.
Volunteers are needed in their clinics to support the hundreds of surgeries they will perform this summer. No experience needed, they will train you!
We hope you can help! Email FCC directly for more info or to get started (let them know you are a Humane Society volunteer!): [email protected]
